This Engineering College is a self - financing institution established and managed by the Federal Bank Officers Association Educational Society (FBOAES) - an initiative of the Federal Bank Officers Association (FBOA) , the sole representative body of the entire officers in The Federal Bank with 35 years of yeomen services to its credit. The society has been formed with the aim of establishing a Center of Excellence for professional studies. Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) is set up at Mookannoor, near Angamaly in Ernakulam District, Kerala, the birth place of the founder of The Federal Bank Ltd, Late KP Hormis. To honour the revered memory of the great visionary, the campus of FISAT is christened 'Hormis Nagar'. Its aim is to develop the institution as a Center of Excellence in technical education, which, in turn will bring out technocrats with superior skill and social commitment. It will be the earnest endeavour of the Institution to provide state-of-art- facilities to mould brilliant young talents enabling them to take-up challenging assignments in the highly competitive global scenario. The Institutes is affiliated to Mahathma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala.
